Consistency: The Key to Permanent Stress Relief

Consistency: The Key to Permanent Stress Relief with John Vespasian

Rick Kaselj Podcast

In today's podcast, we meet with John Vespasian, the author of several books that reflect his views on happiness and effectiveness. John's studies of countless biographies have helped him understand the patterns that lead to success, and each of his books touches on a particular aspect of living, such as how to reduce stress or how to deal with adversity. John believes it is very difficult to become successful, to become highly effective, and to stay healthy, if you have a linear mentality. If you try to spread your energies and attention in many different areas, eventually you will collapse. It’s simply not possible. The only solution to stress is knowledge, and when you look at the history of successful people, most of their stories are asymmetric, not linear. Today John shares several stories of success, and how changing your patterns of thinking can make a huge impact on your life.

JOHN VESPASIAN is the author of ten books about rational living, including “When Everything Fails, Try This” (2009), “Rationality is the Way to Happiness” (2009), “The Philosophy of Builders” (2010), “The 10 Principles of Rational Living” (2012), “Rational Living, Rational Working” (2013), “Consistency: The Key to Permanent Stress Relief” (2014), “On Becoming Unbreakable” (2015), “Thriving in Difficult Times” (2016), “Sequentiality: The Amazing Power of Finding the Right Sequence of Steps” (2017), and “Undisrupted: How Highly-Effective People Deal with Disruptions” (2019). His books combine his passion for history, investing, and personal development, reflecting his philosophy of rational living, productiveness, and respect for the individual. “The purpose of my work is to draw practical lessons from history,” he explains. “If you want to make good decisions, you have to look at the big picture, and learn from the wisdom accumulated in centuries of human experience.”
